Cloghvoola Fishing Lodge is situated in one of the most stunningly beautiful locations in the whole of Ireland. The Atlantic Ocean, mountains, salmon rivers, and 9000 acres of lakes containing wild brown trout, many of them large sea-run brown trout, surround the lodge.

Owners Val and Roger Baker operate their small, friendly lodge, a 200 year-old former farmhouse, themselves. Val has earned an international reputation for her "good old-fashioned home cooking" and Roger as an excellent guide with more than forty years fly fishing experience. He is an angling journalist; fly tier, and founding editor of Irish Angler magazine.

The lodge’s speciality fly fishing is traditional "lough-style", which means casting a team of flies, on a short line, from a comfortable seat, ahead of a sideways drifting boat designed specifically for the purpose. Target species are large sea-run brown trout (sea trout), Atlantic salmon and free-rising wild brown trout.

As well as being an angler’s paradise, Cloghvoola is well suited for a non-angling partner who may just want to enjoy the peace and quiet and changing scenery from a drifting lough boat.

This trip is ideally suited for singles, couples, and small parties of friends. The fishing season starts on January 17th and ends on 30th September.
