Steppingstones is a secret hideaway in little known southern Belize, owned and run by fishing enthusiasts Chris and Sue Harris (we used to own Harris Angling in the UK).
We have two lovely cabana apartments in a secluded piece of paradise accessable only by boat. Mile after mile of barely touched blue water, reef, cayes, flats, channels, mangrove, lagoons, rivers and shore surrounds Steppingstones; much of it in the protected Port Honduras Marine Reserve, which borders our beach.
This is Permit heaven; some of the worlds most prolific and exciting permit flats lie within easy reach of Steppingstones. Want to experience the very best in permit fishing, fly, or bait? Then this is the place for you! Our flats are loaded with fish, and twenty or more shots a day is common. In addition to permit, there are sailfish, triple tail, tuna, wahoo, and many others.
Our licensed guides are superb, a part of the Steppingstones family, and work tirelessly to give you the best fishing ever. Days routinely start at 7:00 am or earlier and end around 6:00 pm or later. Our comfortable, airy apartments have plenty of space for even your tackle – and are right on our palm fringed beach just steps from our private dock.
Take advantage of self-catering or we can offer delicious home cooked meals by arrangement – we even have a homemade pizza delivery service!
Our two Ocean Scrambler XT Angler kayaks, rigged for fishing, are available to you free of charge.
Attention to detail is our specialty. Want us to clean your catch? Wake you at 4:00 am? Wash down your rods and reels? We'll take care of that (and cook your catch of the day too)!
